When it touches your family, investigative experience matters. Re-elect Coroner Jack Hawkins. G.O.P.
I was born and raised in Yakima. After serving honorably in the United States Air Force four years, I chose to return to Yakima to build my life and career. I have served the people of Yakima County 35 years, both in law enforcement and in the coroner's office.
The coroner is the last voice for everyone. As the coroner, it is up to me to determine cause and manner of death, whether it is natural, accidental or homicidal. As the coroner, I decide whether an in depth investigation is necessary and I do this 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
My extensive investigation training and experience makes me extremely well qualified to carry out this important final task for the deceased. I have investigated thousands of crime scenes and have logged thousands of school hours in crime scene analysis, evidence collection and processing, protecting the chain of evidence, traffic accident reconstruction and analysis. I am recognized as an expert witness in all fields of death investigation.
As a police officer and the coroner, I have dealt with thousands of grieving family members. I help people through some of the worst days of their lives, consulting, comforting and guiding them through the investigation process with compassion and patience. I acknowledge and am sensitive to the different cultural death traditions in the Valley.
Through my years in law enforcement and the coroner's office, I have established excellent working relationships with other professionals associated with the work done by the coroner: all Yakima County locally owned funeral homes, law enforcement, all forensic specialists with whom I work, medical examiners and coroners from other Washington counties, attorneys, fire, fire and police chaplains, jail and prison staff, hospital and other medical personnel, nursing homes, Hospice, The Washington State Forensic Investigation Council, The Washington State Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners, Organ, Tissue and Sight Life personnel and financial, health department and vital statistics personnel.
I am the coroner. I am extremely well qualified and am doing a good job. I am committed, dedicated and proven. I care about the people I serve. Let my experience and training work for you, re-elect me as your Yakima County Coroner.
